Europe 1968-1970

small logo

Europe with the 507th USASA SPRD

I was initially assigned to Europe at Head and Head USASAE to work on General Collins Aircraft Detachment at Rhein Main.

However, soon after arriving I was transfered to the 507th USASAE SPRD with the aircraft in Furth and billited at Herzo.

The following pictures are from my leave travels through the German Countryside

Herzo

For those of you that partook the libation pleasures of the Rod and Bottle, errrr, make that Rod and Gun Club, the mug above might look familiar. This one has been round the world a couple times, and is a bit the worse for wear, however, it can still hold memories.

The Rod and Gun club gave me my first experience with German Television, watching Bonanza, and watching Hoss ride up to Little Joe and saying 'Ist Los, Little Joe' hahahahha, loved it hahahahah.

German American Junior Club After I got to the unit, and made friends with Phillips and Burnham, they suggested I join the German American Junior Club, to meet locals and to become more comfortable with the people, and culture. I did meet some great people and learned much of the history of the Nuremburg area and Germany in general

Capsule Story The following series of pictures are from Germany, I hope you enjoy

Spain These pictures are of Tom Burnham and I in Spain, Tom was one of our Ops. We DID get lost in Paris, and that is the only shot I have of the Paris adventure, though it seems every darned road in Paris leads TO the Arc de Triumph, and none away from it.
